6-Headed Shark Attack (2018)

What is supposed to be a marriage boot camp on a remote island turns into the ultimate test for survival when a 6-headed shark starts attacking the beach. Trapped with minimal weapons they try to fight off the shark, but quickly discover that no one is safe in the water or on land.

REVIEW: 6-Headed Shark Attack is the latest in a series made by The Asylum of multi-headed killer sharks. While I loved the first two movies in this series, 2-Headed Shark Attack and 3-Headed Shark Attack, the previous movie, 5-Headed Shark Attack, I found was a big disappointment. It was very...plain..., the characters were forgettable, and there was nothing interesting about it at all other than the visual aesthetic of the shark having five heads. Luckily this new one, 6-Headed Shark Attack, injects the fun that was missing from the previous movie back into the franchise.

This one not only brought back fun, inventive, shark attack and kill scenes but also entertaining characters to spend the runtime with (even if not all of them are acted well) as well as an engaging plot that wasn't just a carbon copy of 99% of SyFy-made shark movies like 5-Headed Shark Attack was, and said plot progressed at just the perfect pace. We also get some visually-pleasing shots of and around the island, as well as some unique locations that made for interesting visuals during some of the scenes. It also helps that the CGI for the multi-headed shark actually looks pretty damn good for an Asylum movie, minus a quick rough shot here and there, the gore was fantastic, and it even had a surprisingly great musical score.

This one also includes some rather...um...unique... moments that you'll be hard-pressed to find in any other shark movie. Moments like the shark walking on land by using the multiple heads lining its sides almost like crab legs, or the characters, early-on, rejoicing over thinking they had the shark killed, only to find out they only destroyed one head out of six when it jumps back out of the water at them in an explosion of gore.

I'm always saying that the top thing I look for in my SyFy and Asylum-made B-Movies is the level of 'Fun'. Above all else (acting, effects, script, etc), Fun is what's most important to me in these types of movies, and 6-Headed Shark Attack has that in spades. It's only an added bonus, the cherry on top if you will, that some of that other stuff turned out pretty good too.
