Triassic World (2018)

Dinosaurs are back, used as the perfect animals to grow human organs for transplants. But in doing so, scientists have made them all but indestructible, leaving humans scrambling to fight back when the creatures escape their enclosures in a research lab.

REVIEW: It's no secret that I'm an unabashed Asylum fanboy. Their movies are my bread and butter for reviews. That's not to say I blindly love everything they do, I have no issues saying when I hate a movie they've put out (most of 2016 and 2017's releases, sadly). With that said, Triassic World is their latest in a homerun year for me with their titles, having loved every single 2018 release so far.


Age of Dinosaurs from 2013 is my personal top favorite Asylum movie to date, so I was already really looking forward to getting to review their next dinosaur movie as it was because of that, and Triassic World met my expectations on pretty much every level. 

The CG special effects looked great for this company, save for maybe a couple shots here and there, and to top it off, much like with Age of Dinosaurs, they surprisingly used quite a bit of gorgeous practical effects as well and they looked great too. Accompanying that is quite a lot of death scenes with a really nice high level of blood and gore. That, mixed with the practical effects for the dinosaurs in those scenes, really made this almost feel like a Carnosaur 4 to me at times, which just made me love it even more, as the Carnosaur series is my all-time favorite set of dinosaur B-Movies.

The acting is great as well, by Asylum standards, and even though the script isn't anything to write home about I don't need it to be for this type of movie either. As long as I see plenty of dinosaurs killing people in gory fashion, I'm fine. I'm easy to please that way.


If I had any complaint at all with Asylum's latest mockbuster, and it's only really really minor, it's that I would have liked to see more types of dinosaurs throughout the movie instead of just the one species. That extremely minor quibble aside, Triassic World is definitely up near the top of my list of all time favorite Asylum movies, a place that every Asylum movie so far this year seems to be finding itself close to or around.

    I am a low budget fan myself. However, I felt as though this movie had so many plot twists and Dramatic end of life twists that it was just to over the top. I laugh at these movies because they are so ridiculous. I mean these movies already have a lot of plot holes. but This one was one giant plot crater. It has just about everything in it from dinosaurs, man killing parasites to Zombie. They should have at least picked something and stayed with it.

Early Review: Zoombies 2 (2019)

Zombie animals rise up yet again in a new animal preserve, threatening those who work there, and the world! REVIEW: The first Zoombies is one of my personal favorite Asylum movies, right behind Age of Dinosaurs , Triassic World , and 6-Headed Shark Attack , so suffice to say I was pretty excited when Asylum sent me a screener copy of Zoombies 2 to review, which up until about a week ago I didn't even know was coming out. Raaz (2002)

A married couple retreat to a weekend getaway house in the countryside to give their crumbling marriage one last chance, but the vacation turns into a nightmare when they discover that a spirit is violently haunting the property and that it's tied into a deep, dark secret that one of them has been hiding. REVIEW: Raaz is a Bollywood horror movie from the early 2000s, although with the poor quality of the video you would think that it's from much earlier then that. On the flip side however, that made the movie feel older, thus it added a bit of atmosphere to the creepy scenes, making them that much more creepier.
